Newest way to reduce household costs
We have made several changes around our home to reduce household cost in bills, cleaning products, etc. Buying reusable items such as reusable zipper food bags, dish rags instead of the scrubbers that get tossed out weekly, and (my fav) wool dryer balls, surely has reduced our monthly household costs. We no longer buy Ziplock bags, dryer sheets and dish scrubbers. That alone has saved use nearly $40 a month. With inflation on the rise, I just couldn't see buying these things anymore.
I wanted to share my favorite new reusable item with you all, the wool dryer balls. We bought these back in November from Home Goods for About $13 for a 3 pack. You can find them at Walmart, Target, and Amazon as well, and less than what we paid. These balls are so convenient. They don't get worn out quickly and they can be scented with just a few drops of anything. I use a few drops of essential oil on them every 3 to 4 uses. We always have essential oils around the house so I figured why not. You can use anything you prefer, just remember that whatever you use will be transferred to your clothes so be mindful of what and how much you use.
Just this alone has saved use about $6 to $8 a month on dryer sheets.
It may not seem like a huge savings but along with other changes we made, it all adds up to almost a full tank of gas. Putting it that way, might change your mind about it.
I hope you all give these balls a try, they are just amazing. I'll keep posting and sharing ways I find to further reduce household costs.
Have a fabulous week family!
